BLock Print reusable bags

Ages 8 and up

In this class students will explore the many possibilities for creating block prints! We’ll experiment with different textures and using found objects to create a variety of stamps. Once we have had a chance to perfect our methods and decide on a favorite stamp, students will then customize their very own reusable grocery bags using their original design stamps. Students will come home with a collection of stamps as well as 2 reusable grocery bags to give you a head start on Kodiak’s new “no plastic” grocery bag ban. Classes will be held at Kodiak High School Art Room and is limited to 10 students.

Ages 8 and up

Create a beautiful one of a kind picture frame, mirror, or jewelry holder with local driftwood, shells. and beach glass. A wonderful gift for out of town friends or an addition to your own home. Class will be held in Kodiak High School Cafeteria and is limited to 10 students.

Journal Making with handmade paper

Tuesday, March 13 and Thursday, March 15 

1:00p.m.- 3:00p.m.

Ages 8 and up

This class will focus on the importance of journaling. In this space, you will learn how to make your own paper using recycled paper with a mould and deckle. We will then turn these pages into personal journals for writing, drawing, or gifting! This class will be held in the Kodiak High School Art room and is limited to 8 students.

Wood Sign design

Thursday, March 15 & Friday, March 16

1:00p.m.- 3:00p.m.

Ages 8 and up

Kids will be led by artist through creating and painting TWO unique wooden signs. All of the students will create two custom signs that they will go home with to show their friends and family! No experience required! This class will be held in the Kodiak High School Cafeteria and is limited to 12 students.
