KAC Virtual Art Club


Calling young artists! Kodiak Arts Council is pleased to offer a virtual art club for youth ages 9 to 12, meeting once a week via Zoom. 

Art Club is designed to help kids explore their creativity and learn new skills while having fun with peers. Our teaching artists have designed a series of different projects to keep young artists engaged and excited about creating.


A few details:

  • Families will register in advance for one month of club participation.

  • Space is limited to 15 children per group age 9- 12.

  • Art Club will meet Mondays for one hour via Zoom.

  • Activities are designed to use simple supplies and supplies are included in registration. For the month of January, supplies pick up for all three classes will be Thursday, January 7, from 10 am to 4 pm, curbside at the Gerald C. Wilson Auditorium.

Puppet Making 

 In this class, you'll make your very own puppets - talking sock puppets! The skills you learn in this class can carry you through to building other types of puppets as well. Supplies include the sock and a selection of fabrics and accessories to choose from.

Coastal Letters 

This class is designed to review items found of the beach and incorporating them into alphabet letters of their choosing creating a beach landscape within the letter. Supplies include acrylic paint, brush and paper canvas.

Zentangle is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. We call these patterns tangles. You create tangles with combinations of dots, lines and  simple curves to create your own image. Students will be provided with a prints to select from or pick their own supplies include pen and paper.
